Another Valentine's Day with no real valentine. I'm on a fucking roll with this. In a couple of years I think I'll have the high score. It's a good thing that I find this holiday and so many others to be shit. You're really only going to show your love ONE DAY a year? If you're in love, that shit should be shown all the time. Not in an overbearing way of course. But enough. I can't imagine it getting old if you are really in love. But then again I don't know what that is, so maybe I'm just too naive to know the truth.

I feel extreme indifference to this holiday. It means nothing to me. Far too many people take it way to seriously. It's basically the women that keep it going. I, however, could care less.
I think it's more of society's pressures to do what you're "supposed" to do. Which is buying a lady chocolates and flowers and possibly a teddy bear. And for the girls...I don't even think you have to do anything. It's just been ingrained in us that it's what's appropriate. Like credit cards, Mothers/Fathers Day, Christmas, Jesus, etc.
I think it's more of a positive/negative reinforcement issue. Like a guy thinking "Oh shit its Valentine’s Day! My girlfriend's going to be so mad if I forget to buy her various nice things that she doesn't need!" He's going to perform an action in order to avoid something bad from happening. It involves your theory in that the girlfriend is expecting a certain behavior from her boyfriend specifically based on what the date is. But without the female expecting this behavior, the male is less likely to give her things. I’m pretty sure all guys don’t care about Valentine’s Day. It’s all about avoiding some pissed off chick at home. This basic principle applys to all holidays in some way. Except I'm not so sure about Jesus. I don't really know what that has to do with anything to be honest, lol.
I just kind of threw in Jesus. He was a pretty happening dude so I gave him a shout out of sorts.
But you got the point which is what was important. They sell bullshit and we buy it. Then progress further by following it and perpetuating even more. Fuck we dumb.
